Todd Roach
is a percussionist, teacher and producer living in Vermont. USA. He has studied the world of Middle Eastern and North African percussion instruments since 1989. His teachers have included master drummers Vince Delgado and Glen Velez. In addition, he has participated in a variety of workshops and master classes over the years with Jamey Haddad, Trichy Sankaran, Simone Shaheen, George Sawa, David Nelson and Subash Chandran.


Roach is an artist endorser and representative for the Cooperman Drum Company and has been listed as an artist and educator with the Vermont Arts Council since 2000. In 2008, Todd performed and taught at the international frame drum festival, Tamburi Mundi, in Freiburg, Germany. He was also the co-producer for NAFDA North, a frame drum festival held in southern Vermont. During NAFDA North, Roach taught and performed with and alongside percussionists N. Scott Robinson, David Kuckhermann, Yousif Sheronick, Patrick Graham, Marla Leigh and John deKadt. Some of his other professional highlights have included performing with renowned Arabic violinist George Lammam at the Middlebury Center for the Arts in 2002, and releasing an instructional video in 2000 with Carl Fisher Publishing, The Quick Guide to Playing Doumbec.


Roach is an active educator that has taught percussion-based residencies in schools throughout New England. He is the founder and co-director of two education programs in Brattleboro, the Kindle Farm School Music and Arts Program and The Loft Youth Percussion Ensemble. Other projects in recent years have included performing on the soundtrack for the Sandglass Theater production, Between Sand and Stars, performing throughout New England with ney player Fredrick Stubbs and multi-media performances in venues around Montreal with Circo de Bakuza, a troupe of dancers, visual artists, dj’s, and musicians.
In addition to performing and teaching, Todd is the founder and manager of The Loft in Brattleboro, Vermont.
